KDL32D3000U Sony Bravia LCD TV
KDL32D3000U is part of the newly launched D series, the latest in a long line of Bravia LCD TVs from behemoth Japanese manufacturer Sony who sells only LCD and no plasma in the flat panel sector. Although none in the D series feature a native panel resolution of 1920 x 1080, the Sony KDL32D3000U more than makes up for it with its impressive list of incorporated features, including Sony's version of motion compensated frame interpolation technology (dubbed "Motionflow"), ability to accept 24fps signals directly, and Sony's proprietary S-Force Front Surround audio system designed to simulate a surround effect.
Pros
- Contrary to the traditional notion held about LCD TVs, the KDL32D3000U produces decent blacks and excellent shadow detail.
- Motionflow technology on the Sony KDL32D3000U functions competently to minimise motion blurring.
- Top-notch video processing including noise reduction, film and video mode deinterlacing.
Cons
- Wide Colour Gamut (WCG) on the KDL-32D3000U gives a slightly oversaturated picture in terms of colour.
- No white balance control in user menu – if you wish to calibrate greyscale you'll need to access the service menu.
- The Sony KDL32D3000U is pricey compared to most other 32" LCD TVs on the market.

Larger LCD Televisions?
If 32-inch seems too small for your living lounge, you may want to consider a larger size LCD TV up to 40". Sony's KDL40W3000 should be on top of your shortlist, as it preserves the Bravia's assets in black level performance and shadow detailing. However, if you wish to experience the 100Hz Motionflow technology on bigger screens, you will need to splash out more on the top-of-the-range Sony KDL40X3000.
